PostHeaderIcon Making Money in Bucharest

When we [our group of expert friends] first came in Bucharest, Romania 4-5 years for property purposes, we had all the excitement you can expect when first landing and walk around in a country that was essentially foreign to us. We went through all stages of ex-patriotism, and above all the stage where we as entrepreneurs and managers look around and think ‘wow … did knot’s this good idea to Bucharest?” While this is great fun to do and helps you to play realistic ideas, don’t be that anxious to come to this’ trap’ I’ll call it.

We’ve looked at the open fast-food chains, luxury spa’s, name brand clothing labels, office buildings and more. We looked at both traditional and more Western business concepts. At the end of the day, we’ve found that if one considers the amount of overhead versus time for the activity actually absorb and accepted in the local market, and the amount of bureaucracy to get there, one may be better to achieve the second’odd”types of revenue streams. We’ll talk specifically about these type plans were removed in a future post. Always keep in mind that what we can do in the U.S. or Britain, the Romanians can usually make it cheaper. Not necessarily better in all cases, but cheaper … and this is a ‘trickle down’ effect. Run your numbers then.
